Critique Evening, 9th January 2012

Our first evening back after the Christmas & New Year break should be Monday 9th January and the subject is Members Critique Evening. This is your chance to provide the material for the evening and gain constructive feedback from fellow members.

To have a successful evening, we require your images, digital and print. Therefore can you in the first instance email digital images to syllabus@livingstoncameraclub.org.uk. Also, due to time constraints, your Prints will need to be brought along on the night, but can you please inform Kate (Syllabus Secretary email above) that you are supplying prints for critique. Images definitely do not require to be competition or award winning standard, otherwise we may struggle to give any constructive critique.

The meeting goes ahead as usual despite the recent storm damage to the Crofthead Center. Repairs means that the Crofthead Center will be open Monday evening.

Christmas Dinner, Saturday 3rd December 2011

It is safe to say that a good night was had by all who attended the LCC Christmas dinner. The Saltire staff excelled themselves, and there was many complements on the quality of the meals. The quiz was also well received.

The theme for the dinner competition was "Gold" which was judged by the Saltire chef and kitchen staff. The competition was won by a newcomer to the club Louise Hanlon. Roy Pritchard was second and Richard Devine was third.

Request for images for external competitions

The club requires a pool of images to be used in external competitions including the GDPU League fixtures. A selection committee will be set up to select images, but first we need a pool of digital images and prints. Can club members submit digital images to be considered for the forthcoming inter-club competitions by sending them by email to competitions@livingstoncameraclub.org.uk and clearly mark them "selection committee" for external competitions. Club members wishing prints to be considered for future inter-club competitions should bring the prints to the Monday meetings and hand them to a committee member.

Please note that images used in the external competitions can also be entered in the LCC internal competitions.

Themed Competition (Culture, Comfort, Camera)

Entries should be handed in before end 21 November 2011. This does not contribute to members league results. This is a stand alone competition with prizes available on the critique evening. Please create images that convey your own representation of the theme titles.
