11-April: Members Critique Evening (+Hand in for Annual Competition)

Can I draw your attention to this forthcoming members evening to be facilitated by Bob Thomson, Roy Pritchard and myself. This will take the form of a critique evening where members are invited to bring along images for discussion and constructive feedback.

Most members appreciate the feedback they get on their images but it is sometimes said that there is insufficient feedback gleaned from the club competitions. This critique evening is intended to provide an alternate platform and further opportunity to receive comment on your images.

Everyone is invited to participate either by offering constructive critique on the night or by bringing images along for assessment.

Members wanting to receive feedback on their work are invited to bring along 5 (or so) images for facilitated assessment.

The evening will be in three parts:
Part 1: An open critique with all those present, giving widest possible view.
Part 2: Smaller group critiques, for those a little more shy.
Part 3: A “show and tell” of alternative ways to print/present your images.

I hope you all see this members evening as worthwhile and will all join in, either by providing input on how to improve and/or by bringing along your images for critique.

Your Camera Club Needs You

Dear Livingston Camera Club Members,

We are fast approaching the end of 2010/11 club-year, with preparations for the remainder of the syllabus and the annual dinner well advanced. It is now time to start preparations for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) sheduled to be held in May.

Specifically this year several of the current committee (all of whom having served for a number of years), have made it known that they do not plan to stand for re-election at the AGM. We are therefore looking for members to step up and support the club with a view to joining the committee.

The club is run by volunteers, members that step forward and are prepared to share the tasks necessary for the continued running of the club. While there are some procedural matter leading up to and during the AGM, now is the time to let it be known that you are willing to be considered to be part of the team that will take your club forward.

At this time please let it be known that you are prepared to stand for election. And while decisions on what post an individual fills can be taken later, if there is a specific role that you are interested in then please also let that be known.

You can volunteer by reply to this email or via the discussion that has been initiated on Facebook.

Many thanks for your consideration of this need.

New Membership Application Form

An improved Membership Application Form as been uploaded to the web site. The main objective here is to make the registration process more efficient. The new form can be filled in when opened up in Adobe Reader, removing the challenge of reading some people's handwriting. The form can then be printed off, signed, dated and brought to the club with the appropriate payment. If you plan on posting the form can you do this before the 30th August.
